Police forces intervened early Saturday to stop a violent clash between rival youth groups near the Pasar Pal area in Cimanggis, Depok. Authorities arrested two young men at the scene and confiscated an array of dangerous weapons, including an airsoft gun.

Subscribe Sekarang →According to Jakarta Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, the suspects were detained by patrol officers from the Samapta Directorate. The unit had been conducting routine night patrols to prevent street crimes and maintain public order in the area.
Based on police reports, the operation began around 2:45 AM after residents reported a street brawl in progress near the local market. "Officers immediately headed to the location to verify the situation," Budi Hermanto stated in a press release.
Arriving at the scene around 3:00 AM, the patrol team secured two youths identified by their initials as F and R. Both were suspected of active involvement in the violent clash.
During the raid, officers recovered several weapons abandoned near the site. The seized items included seven large sickle-like sickles known as celurit, one air rifle, and a revolver-style airsoft gun.
The two detainees and the evidence have been handed over to the Depok Metropolitan Regional Police for further investigation. Budi Hermanto urged parents to monitor their children during late-night hours and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities through the emergency hotline.
