Security guard Victor Harefa, who was preparing to cross the street, slapped the body of the speeding vehicle in reaction.
Based on police statements, an argument broke out immediately between the driver and the guard. Officers at Pospol Thamrin intervened quickly and brought both men inside to resolve the dispute through dialogue.
"There was no physical fight. During the mediation process, there was no violence or hitting," Braiel said at the Menteng Police Headquarters on Thursday.
According to authorities, the driver had already received an electronic traffic ticket for running the red light. While both men initially agreed to resolve the matter peacefully, police emphasized that either party remains free to file an official report if they feel unsatisfied with the outcome.
