"The Governor's team was Argentina, the Governor's wife backed Spain. Having lost, I was teased again. So now I am sleepy," Pramono Anung said on Monday. The crowd in the hall laughed at his words.
During the event, the governor brought a young boy onto the stage. He asked the boy about his favorite sports and players. The boy preferred football over basketball and volleyball.
Pramono Anung then asked the child to choose between the young star Lamine Yamal and the veteran Lionel Messi. The boy chose Lamine Yamal without hesitation.
Based on his observation of the match, Pramono Anung admitted that the European side deserved the victory. He watched the full game and noted that Spain controlled the pitch before extra time.
"From the material and the strategy, if Argentina lost 1-0 to Spain, I think it is fair," the governor said. He added that Argentina was completely penned in during the match.
