Dean Cain Proclaims the End of Hollywood's Woke Era

The old values still hold true for Dean Cain. More than three decades after he wore the cape in the ABC television series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," the actor still believes in truth, justice, and the American way. His path to the screen was an accident of fate. He signed to play professional football with the Buffalo Bills in 1988, but a severe knee injury ended his career before the first regular-season game. He turned to acting, and later, to plain speaking.

The entertainment business has changed, and Cain has not kept silent. He has become a prominent conservative voice in a industry that leans the other way. According to Cain, the current state of the business is bleak. "Hollywood's kind of died," Cain said in an interview with Fox News Digital. He recalled the days when his father directed films and the choices were simpler. Now, he argues, the industry has lost its direction through ideological posturing.

The cultural shift has damaged the traditional movie business. Cain noted that the industry became very woke, and the change hurt the box office. He chose to leave California three years ago, joining a larger exodus of filmmakers and citizens. Based on his recent work, the business has moved elsewhere. He recently finished shooting films in Alabama and Texas, finding freedom in independent projects away from the old studio system.

The actor believes the tide is turning. "Right now, I like the direction it's in, because I think we're coming out of the woke epic, if you will," Cain said. He stated that people will eventually look back at this period and view it as a foolish era. For Cain, the enduring appeal of Superman lies in small-town American morality, rather than modern revisions that cast the hero in darker or alternate political lights.

High taxes and heavy regulations forced his move to Nevada. He found a better life in the Silver State, where his parents had already settled. The state offered lower costs, no state income tax, and a growing film industry. The relocation has also brought new invitations. Local leaders have asked Cain to run for the United States Senate and for governor.

A political career remains a possibility, though he holds no desire for traditional political ambition. Cain praised the work of Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and expressed support for citizen politicians over career bureaucrats. He stated that if he could do real good for the state and the country, he would step into the arena, finish the work, and leave.
