He won the election and kept his word. Real Madrid offered that exact amount for Julian Alvarez of cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid, but the gesture brought no fruit.
According to reports, the proposal for the Argentine forward was rejected immediately. Atletico Madrid publicly mocked the offer on social media, pointing directly to the player's steep €500 million release clause. This refusal forced the Madrid chief to alter his strategy.
Romano then revealed that Olise is the true Galactico Perez wants now. The president believes the 24-year-old winger can help bring more Champions League and LaLiga trophies to the Santiago Bernabeu. On June 20, Real Madrid felt compelled to issue a statement denying any direct talks with Olise, choosing to preserve their formal relationship with Bayern Munich.
The Italian journalist has doubled down on his claims that Los Blancos dream of securing the player. In a recent video, Romano spoke of an obsession in Madrid. "Olise is the Galactico in Florentino Perez's mind. The Julian Alvarez story has never really been concrete. The player wanted by Florentino before, now, and in the next years, is Olise. Perez loves Michael Olise. There is pure admiration," Romano stated.
The pursuit will not be easy. Based on statements from Munich, Bayern Munich insist they intend to keep their star. Romano noted that any summer departure remains heavily complicated. "But in case there is even a small way to make it happen, Florentino Perez believes Michael Olise is the perfect player for Real Madrid's quality, style and Galactico mentality," the journalist added.
A transfer of this magnitude will require significant capital. Bayern Munich are expected to demand a fee exceeding €200 million before they consider parting with the playmaker. Olise has already shown immense chemistry with Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe during their international duties with France, and Perez dreams of uniting them in Spain alongside Erling Haaland in the future.
