Legal Battle Shifts Indonesian Celebrity Dispute to Court Mediation
The planned reconciliation talks scheduled for July 11 between prominent Indonesian celebrities Sarwendah and Ruben Onsu have hit a major roadblock. This sudden development comes after Ruben formally registered a child custody lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court, prompting Sarwendah's legal team to reconsider their initial out-of-court approach.
Sarwendah's legal counsel, Chris Sam Siwu, confirmed that the newly initiated litigation completely alters the resolution framework. With the case now entering the judiciary system, the upcoming court-mandated mediation phase will officially supersede any private meeting arrangements originally planned by both parties.

Despite having not yet received the official court summons, Sarwendah's legal team welcomed the lawsuit as a proper mechanism to settle the dispute. Counsel stated that presenting arguments, witnesses, and evidence before a judge will clarify the situation and protect the psychological well-being of their children, Thalia and Thania Putri Onsu.
Preparations are already underway for the first court hearing scheduled for July 15, 2026, where Sarwendah intends to counter all allegations regarding parenting restrictions. This legal shift marks a definitive end to public arguments, moving the custody battle entirely into a formal courtroom setting.
