Persistent Thunderstorms Forecasted for Northern and Central Vietnam

A low-pressure trough combined with high-altitude wind convergence continues to destabilize atmospheric conditions across Northern Vietnam. Heavy downpours and widespread thunderstorms are expected to hit the region, concentrating heavily during the night, early morning, and late afternoon hours before briefly clearing up during midday.

Meteorologists warn that the upcoming storms carry a high risk of localized severe downpours, flash floods, tornados, lightning, and strong gusty winds. Conversely, daylight hours will experience brief periods of sunshine, driving up humidity levels and causing a noticeably sultry heat felt most intensely during the early afternoon.

In Central Vietnam, the areas stretching from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms primarily during the evening. Meanwhile, regions from Quang Tri to Hue and the South Central Coast will enjoy predominantly dry conditions with ample daytime sunshine, making outdoor activities highly favorable except for isolated late-afternoon downpours.

The Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam remain under the steady influence of the southwest monsoon, which brings daily evening showers though at a lower intensity. Marine forecasts indicate that the South China Sea will experience strong southwestern wind vectors, generating rough seas and localized thunderstorms that could disrupt maritime shipping lanes.
