The Pricing Structure of Pinkan Mambo's Music Academy

Speaking at the Rumpi studio in South Jakarta on Wednesday, Pinkan Mambo expressed that public criticism and mixed reactions are entirely normal whenever a public figure launches a new venture. The former Duo Ratu member revealed that while her current academy is in its early stages, she successfully managed a larger roster of both online and offline students during a previous coaching stint three years ago.

The online scrutiny intensified after promotional materials shared on Instagram detailed her tiered pricing structure, which includes a shared group package priced at IDR 500,000 per month. Under this entry-level tier, students receive four sessions monthly, with each individual class strictly capped at a duration of just 30 minutes.

Defending the premium rates against criticism that the sessions are too short, Mambo emphasized that the curriculum is delivered exclusively by highly qualified professionals capable of maximizing every minute. She asserted that the 30-minute sessions are highly intensive, ensuring that students absorb core vocal techniques rapidly and effectively without wasted time.

This is not the first time the high-profile singer has faced public pushback over her entrepreneurial strategies and pricing models. Mambo, who originally rose to national fame alongside Maia Estianty, previously sparked similar viral debates online following the premium price points of her independent catering and donut businesses.
